Routine Consumption of Pomegranate Juice Keep Heart Stay Healthy

Pomegranate, known as pomegranates are rich in antioxidants like polyphenols, tannins, and anthocyanins that more than red wine and black tea. In fact many studies have found that pomegranate juice efficacious protect the heart in order to stay healthy.

In 2005, scientists from the Preventative Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito in Sausalito, California wants to know if pomegranate juice can help reduce atherosclerosis, a major cause of heart disease.

In this study, patients with coronary heart disease were asked to drink 240 ml (one cup) of pomegranate juice every day for 3 months in addition to the consumption of a placebo, while the other group only placebo alone
At the end of the three month study period, ischemia or restriction of blood flow due to blockage, decreased in the pomegranate juice group. However, in the placebo group, ischemia actually increased.

In 2009, a team of scientists published a review of all available studies on the benefits of pomegranate juice in the journal Nutrition Review. Pomegranate juice not only increases blood flow in the cardiovascular system of the patient's heart, but also help to reduce high blood pressure and inflammation.

The content of antioxidants in the juice can reduce blood vessel lesions in atherosclerosis and thickening of the blood vessels in heart patients. The study also noted that people with type II diabetes who drank pomegranate juice to benefit from a decrease in blood lipids.

The scientists determined that pomegranate juice can protect the cardiovascular system so well that it should be promoted as a standard part of a heart healthy diet, as quoted from NaturalNews, Thursday (12/06/2012).

In 2010, scientists from the Department of Zoology at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara in India providing pomegranate juice to a group of healthy mice for 30 days, while keeping the control group of mice for comparison.

On days 28 and 29, both groups of mice were treated with a solution that causes heart disease. Groups of rats were given pomegranate juice were significantly less affected by the drug compared to the control group who did not receive the protection of pomegranate juice.

Various studies claim if the patient does not make lifestyle changes, eventually had to be treated with medication. As an alternative to medicine, Johns Hopkins University recommend regular consumption of pomegranate juice. It reduces blood pressure and the activity of the enzyme that leads to heart disease.
