Diarrhea that attacked the child can be fatal if not treated quickly and appropriately. The following symptoms need to be considered if diarrhea occurred in children under age 6 months:

- There is blood in the stool during bowel movements
- Vomiting repeatedly
- Upset stomach
- Frequency of urination is reduced (using less than 6 diapers per day)
- No tears when crying
- Loss of appetite to consume drinking water
- High fever
- Diarrhea / waste water repeatedly
- Dry mouth and sticky
- Weight loss down
It is not always advisable to see a doctor if the child looks better even though there are symptoms:

- Frequent bowel movements, the size of a large dirt
- Lots of intestinal gas
- Dirt greenish or yellowis

Usually, mild diarrhea lasts for 3 to 6 days. Sometimes children will experience diarrhea for several days in the future. As long as the child looks fresh and continue to consume enough fluids and food, diarrhea need not worry. Children should continue to eat healthy foods, including formula or milk when you experience mild diarrhea. Breastfeeding must be continued. (Source: Samitivej Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand)
