This is the impact if 9 hours in air condition area

World of work today can not seem to escape from the use of air conditioner or air conditioning. But if you spend too much time in air-conditioned, first to 9 hours can cause health effects.

Research has proven to be in the open can strengthen the immune system because of the white blood cells that protect against bacteria need oxygen to work effectively.

But unfortunately most of the urban population spent nearly 9 hours in the office with air conditioning and are often followed by a night's sleep in air-conditioned rooms.

This condition certainly can affect a person's health condition. Respiratory infections are the most commonly affected as flu and colds, frequent headaches and itchy throat. It is experienced by many young professionals in the urban areas.

"An air conditioner has cooling through the evaporation process so that it can dry out the mucous membranes in the nose and mouth," says consultant ENT surgeon, Dr Gauri Mankekar of Hinduja Hospital, as quoted from Timesofindia, Thursday (12/13/2012).

As is known the nose, sinuses and throat depends on the moisture in the membranes that protect the immune system. When moist, the immune cells able to attract viruses, bacteria and allergens into the trap as the body's first line of defense against airborne pathogens.

But unfortunately most are not equipped with air conditioning humidifier causing dry air around it. These conditions helped weaken the body's defense against pathogens.

Besides other effects of constant exposure and direct from the cold, dry air can damage the skin and eliminate the elasticity that can trigger itching. Generally the skin condition dermatitis and eczema are often found in otang who spend long hours in the cold air-conditioned.

Several things can be done to mitigate the adverse effects are:

1. While working in the office try to get out of the room air conditioner for example during lunch to get some fresh air, as well as in the room to open the windows and doors so that sunlight can enter.

2. Make sure the air temperature in the office is set in order to avoid 'shock' due to sudden temperature changes when the incoming heat from the external environment. Sudden temperature fluctuations can affect the joints.

3. Using the body warm enough clothes when in an air-conditioned, and remove the clothing while outdoors.

4. Although located in a cold room, still consume enough water every few hours to keep the body well hydrated, you should not wait for thirst to come.
